Hey there.
It's been awhile, I know. I've been meaning to write, but every time I sit down to do it all I can think about is everything that is wrong with my life right now and I don't want to write pity parties; however, I do want to chronicle my life, even when it isn't stellar. So, for now, I present to you an update on my life. Maybe after this I'll share some thoughts about feminism and True Blood. We'll see how it goes.
Darla:
Darla got here about two weeks ago. I picked her up from the airport and a few days later her boyfriend stopped by on his way to Seattle and dropped her stuff off from the U-Haul. We went out to an ice cream shop in Lake Oswego for dinner that night. It's been an adjustment living with someone else. I lived with Chris for three years and then lived here alone for a month before she moved in. We are doing well aside from the possibility that we will both soon develop diabetes because we enable each other's sweet tooths.

Work:
I am continuing to work my part-time job while searching for additional part-to-full-time employment. For a while I was quite frightened of losing my job because I was not making my goals. This week has been much better, although today was abysmal. I have an interview on Tuesday for a part-time position.
Finances:
Since I'm only working part-time right now I am struggling to make ends meet. Unfortunately I had to sell my iPad to pay to register my car in Oregon and get license plates. I have had some amazing help though. The other night my brother ordered me a pizza and tonight my dad did the same. One of my bosses went out of her way to make sure I was capable of paying my bills until I started receiving paychecks. One of my coworkers gave me a dresser she was planning to donate to Goodwill. Chris has sent me a Brita pitcher and gift cards he wasn't using.

Dogs:
Winston and Banjo hated each other and/or couldn't decide who was the alpha when Banjo arrived two weeks ago. Since then they have decided to be best friends, although they do still fight over toys and food. Darla and I took all their toys away and feed them separately to minimize incidents. They usually spend all day alternately wrestling and laying by the door drooling.
Adventures:
Well, adventures have been less plentiful than I had hoped, mostly because I can't afford gas to go anywhere. Darla and I went to the pub near our apartment last weekend, but I could only afford water. This week we went to Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City and shot some pictures. They are on my my flickr. Darla and I walked around the Marylhurst campus as well. It's beautiful.

I am so excited that football is returning on Thursday. Tonight the guy at Papa John's said my Broncos t-shirt was "badass" and that they're going to be really good this year. Duh.
I've lost 15 lbs since I got here. Celebratory selfie:
