I was supposed to leave for Oregon today, but that's not going to happen. Due to bad luck, varying levels of incompetence, and my own poor decision making I will not be leaving until next Monday. Here's where things stand:
Job:
Yesterday was my last day at my current job. I don't have a transfer approved through my current company and I haven't heard back from any of the other jobs to which I applied.
Car:
My front end is disassembled and sitting in front of my parents' house. I can't drive it until it is reassembled and my dad can't do that until next weekend. Every time we try to fix anything it takes about ten times as long as it should because the car doesn't want to cooperate.
Winston:
He wouldn't let the groomer touch him today, so I had to buy dog clippers and do it myself (which was actually about $15 cheaper than paying for it). I have not heard back from the vet about whether Winston can get his shots before I leave.
Trip:
Because of the uncertain timing I haven't booked pet friendly hotels yet. I also haven't set for sure the days I will be in Nebraska or the how far I will get each day.
My sister tells me I should add that I'm almost completely out of food because I was planning to leave tomorrow and I refuse to go grocery shopping.
So that's where I am right now. I think today I'll go swimming at the lake and tomorrow I will face the many challenges I have before me.
