Farewell Indy Tour: Day 2

Chris and I took Winston to Marott Park/Nature Preserve today.  It's probably my favorite park in the city because it has a creek running through it, which Winston and I love to walk through (Chris follows us reluctantly). Today we walked from one end of the park to the other through the creek. We crossed paths with a lady walking her dog, Gordy. Gordy and Winston were instant friends, so Gordy's owner chatted with us while the dogs ran up and down the beach.

At one point I tried to get Winston to cross a relatively deep area to stand on a submerged platform of rock. Winston started across, but got scared of the deep area and quickly swam to the opposite shore and hopped up behind some dead limbs. The only way back out was for him to jump over a limb level with his head and into the shallow creek two feet below. He was scared, and I was nervous he would hurt himself if he jumped so I waded across and lifted him out. He generally doesn't like to be held up off the ground but he settled into my arms and looked nervously at the creek so I carried him across. I thought it was pretty cute.
