My loneliness was made for hotels. It was made for road trips alone, for single serving friends on one-way flights, for days lost in strange books and strange places. At those times I feel it resonate within me, the way engineers can match the frequency of the vibrations of a bridge, that is how my loneliness finds the places I belong. It is my loneliness that defines me now, and my greatest desire is to let it consume me, to let it take me to the places it calls home and to reside there forever.
